Nathan Coombs and Gary Lenz Mechanical & Tyres among Gladstone and CQ’s best mechanics

“This one’s for you Dad”: After asking our readers to nominate the best mechanics in Gladstone, four teams share the spoils. Meet Gladstone’s Best Mechanics.

One mechanic has paid tribute to his late father, a dedicated mechanic in the region for decades, as he learned he was voted among the Gladstone and Central Queensland region’s best mechanics.

After recently asking our readers to nominate their favourite mechanic in the region, The Observer can now reveal four mechanics who share the title of Gladstone’s Best Mechanic for 2022.

Following the close of nominations, the votes were tied at the top for four teams, three from Gladstone and one from Agnes Water.

Coombs Mechanical Repairs, Ron Streeter Motors, Gary Lenz Mechanical & Tyres, and Nathan Coombs Mechanical (Agnes Water) have all collected the equal top votes in our poll.

NATHAN COOMBS MECHANICAL

Nathan Coombs couldn’t believe he had received such recognition from the community and gave a tribute to his father Milton, a dedicated mechanic in the region for decades.

“Without the knowledge passed down to me by my father Milly on how to provide impeccable service I wouldn’t be in this position … it’s all in honour of him because I promised him before his passing that I would ensure his legacy lives on,” Mr Coombs said.

“This came as quite a surprise coming from such a small community here in Agnes Water but the response we have had since we open the doors in August 2020 has been unbelievable with our loyal customers,” he said.

“I was eventually privileged enough to work by his (Milton) side in 1999 in his family business.”
