Ten Queenslanders are charging up their careers by starting graduate, apprentice or trainee positions at CS Energy’s Callide Power Station in early 2022.

This year’s intake comprises six women and four men and is a mix of recent school leavers and existing employees who are upskilling.

More than half will be based at Callide Power Station in Central Queensland, including graduate mechanical engineer Majella Cassidy, mechanical apprentices Daniel Ryan and Shanece Blake, electrical and instrumentation apprentices Adam Herbert and Noah Chadwick, and business administration trainee Meg Semple.

Three people are also starting a new traineeship at Kogan Creek Power Station on the Western Downs including Amy Patterson-Kane (Certificate 3 in Warehouse Operations), Jorji Gore-Johnson (Certificate 4 in Health & Safety) and Breanna Collins (Certificate 4 in Business Administration).

In Brisbane, Qasim Khan Baba has joined the ICT team in CS Energy’s corporate office in an undergraduate software engineering role and will join the company’s two-year graduate program mid-year once he graduates.

CEO Andrew Bills said both Qasim and Majella had previously completed summer undergraduate placements with CS Energy.

“It’s great to see Qasim and Majella return to CS Energy and it demonstrates how our summer undergraduate program provides a pipeline of talent for our two year graduate program,” Mr Bills said.

“CS Energy is also proud to provide apprentice and trainee opportunities in trade, technical or administrative disciplines in the regions where we operate.

“The energy industry offers such a diversity of skills opportunities and CS Energy is proud to play our part in developing the next generation.”
