Building Boost extension passed

THE $10,000 Building Boost initiative has been extended in an attempt to support construction industry jobs.

THE $10,000 Building Boost initiative has been extended in an attempt to support construction industry jobs.

Deputy Premier and Treasurer Andrew Fraser said Parliament passed the Building Boost Grant Amendment Bill, allowing the Building Boost to be extended until the end of April.

"The Building Boost is all about supporting jobs in the construction industry, and the extra three months extension to the boost will see even more momentum grow in the sector," Mr Fraser said.

"We have now seen over 5,600 applications for the Boost, and that number is growing by the hundreds every single week.

"The industry has supported this program, and the industry has strongly supported the extension.

"The LNP has begrudgingly and belatedly got onboard in recent weeks, and we welcome their support as well."

Mr Fraser said there was no better time for potential buyers to purchase a brand new home.

"Interest rates are dropping and until the end of April, the Bligh Government is putting forward $10,000 if you're buying or building a brand new home.

"If you're looking to buy, why not support construction workers and all those industries that benefit from brand new homes and get your Queensland Building Boost grant."
