Girl bitten by shark off North West Island near Yeppoon
A young girl has a bite wound on her leg and injuries to her foot after she was bitten by a shark off the central Queensland coast - near the same island a man was bitten little more than a week ago.

A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl attacked by a shark off Queensland has a bite wound to the back of her leg, and puncture wounds to her foot.
The girl is recovering in hospital after she was attacked near North West Island off the central Queensland coast about 5.30pm yesterday.
Paramedics say the girl was lucky a registered nurse was in the area when the shark struck, and was able to stem the bleeding.
A private boat rushed the girl to Heron Island, about 40 minutes away, where a rescue chopper was waiting.
She was taken to the Bundaberg hospital in a stable condition.
The girl was reportedly swimming when she was attacked by what’s believed to be a lemon shark.
The girl was in a stable condition and all bleeding had been controlled.
It comes just over a week since a 30-year-old man was bitten by a shovelnose shark off the same island.
And it follows a spate of attacks, one fatal, in the Whitsundays in recent years.
