RACQ experts are inspecting regional roads affected by last year's major flooding.
Senior traffic and safety engineer Greg Miszkowycz and senior economist Susan Furze are examining major highways to gauge just how far the flood recovery effort has come.
"We're interested to see where the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements funding has been invested and where improvements to the quality and safety of highways are still required,'' Mr Miszkowycz said.
"We will compile an official report, complete with findings and recommendations, on how things can be improved."
The report will be particularly useful in pushing for greater funding for improvements to these highways in the lead-up to the federal election next year.
Mr Miszkowycz and Mrs Furze also will meet with Department of Transport and Main Roads representatives to discuss funding, maintenance and road conditions.
