Police continue investigations into rollover on Warrego Highway at Helidon Spa

Emergency services responded to a truck rollover on the Warrego Hwy at Helidon Spa, which left the driver in a critical condition.

Multiple Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews, as well as Queensland police and paramedics, assisted at the incident which occurred near Postmans Ridge Rd just after 2.30pm Monday.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the truck, reportedly carrying gravel, had rolled over in the middle median strip section of the eastbound lane.

The QPS spokeswoman said the left lane closest to the truck was closed off with the assistance of Transport and Main Roads at around 3.14pm.

A male driver was extracted from the vehicle which had rolled down an embankment, and was assessed by paramedics, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.

The male driver and sole occupant was taken to Toowoomba Hospital in a critical condition, having suffered significant head and chest injuries.

He remains in Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.

A QPS spokeswoman said no further information could be provided as police investigations were ongoing.
