Murphys Creek was fired up on Sunday with hundreds heading to the annual Chilli Festival.
Hosted by Chilli Festivals Australia, the event did not disappoint, with an array of flavours and fragrances from around the world to taste test.
Families and kids tucked into icy poles and watermelons to cool off from the scorching Sunday heat.
But some decided to go the daredevil route, trying their luck at one of the crazy eating competitions.
The winner of the hot chip challenge was Dave Gilbert who braved three hot sauce and chip-eating rounds as well as a final.
Only the finest chilli products were available to purchase. Ranging from mild to borderline dangerous sauces from local businesses like Jasper In A Jar who supplied their “One Spicy Senorita” sauce for the hot chip challenge.
Visitors were treated to more than 60 vendors, international food trucks, and a massive 500 hot sauces to sample.
One of the vendors, Captain’s Candy from Ashmore, on the Gold Coast, was selling so much more than delicious lollies, like the infamous hot sauces from the global hit, “Hot Ones” TV show. Captain’s Candy is the only store that stocks these sauces in all of Queensland.
Guests were asked to donate a $2 coin for a day to treat the tastebuds, with all proceeds going to Rural Aid.
