Woman flown to hospital with serious injuries after ATV crash at Burrum River

A woman has suffered serious injuries in an all-terrain vehicle crash on the Fraser Coast.

It‘s believed the woman, who is aged in her 50s, was riding the ATV on a private property at Burrum River when it hit a bump, causing it to crash.

The rider was reportedly thrown from the ATV.

The rescue chopper was tasked to assist just after 4.40pm.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter pilot landed the aircraft on the private property near the scene of the crash, where the aeromedical crew met with local Queensland Ambulance Service Paramedics to treat the patient for serious spinal injuries.

She was flown to Bundaberg Hospital in a serious but stable condition, under the supervision of the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue critical care doctor.
