Tinana Veterinary Surgery to close at end of 2025

Tributes flow as a Maryborough veterinary practice announces it will close its doors at the end of the year.

A Maryborough institution will come to a close at the end of 2025, when veterinarian David Rossi and retires and his practice, Tinana Veterinary Surgery, closes down.

Dr Rossi opened the clinic in 1996, and a statement posted to the business’s social media announced it would close on December 5.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our loyal clients and friends for their unwavering support over the years,m” the statement said.

“It has been a honour and a privilege to look after your babies for all these years, many from a tiny puppy to a grand old friend that we help cross the rainbow bridge.”

The news was met with an outpouring of love and memories from friends and clients, with many praising Dr Rossi and his 30 years of service.

“So sad for us! Such a wonderful, caring practice,” Leo Buckley said.

“All staff (are) so supportive, competent and caring. Enjoy your retirement and live life to the full. I can’t imagine the nurses will have any problems finding an alternative if they wish. Travel well all of you.”

Dominie Purins said “without David, Raelene and their magical team we would have been lost”.

“We will always thank you for the kindness, skill and compassion you treated our now three Frenchies, Bun’n’Fig’n’Max, and their two very fragile humans.”

Wendy Montgomery said she has used the practice for more than 28 years, and it would be missed.

“I have brought my Dalmatians to you since 1997...your early days,” she said.

“David’s advice, knowledge and passion for his vocation has been legendary. All the very best to you all.”

The clinic has been contacted for comment.
