Television presenters hooked by Fraser Island and region

LIFESTYLE program The Hook and The Cook will televise the Fraser Coast’s stunning scenery and mouth-watering cuisine in two episodes this month.

LIFESTYLE television program The Hook and The Cook will broadcast the Fraser Coast's stunning scenery and mouth-watering cuisine to a national audience this month.

The Hook and The Cook is dedicating two 30-minute episodes to Fraser Island and the Great Sandy Strait region.

The first will be aired on 7Two at 11.30am on Sunday, April 21, and the second will feature a week later on April 28, also on 7Two at 11.30am.

Tourism Fraser Coast acting general manager Robbie Cornelius said the programs would provide fantastic exposure for Fraser Island and the region as a whole.

"Normally The Hook and The Cook only make one episode per location they visit however they have filmed two on the Fraser Coast," he said.

"It is a terrific coup for the region, they must have liked what they saw.

"To have the region showcased by this quality program to many thousands of viewers around Australia is publicity you just can't buy."

The Hook and the Cook brings together two of Australia's most popular activities - fishing and cooking.

The Hook and The Cook is presented by two of Sydney's most accomplished practitioners, Scotty Lyons (The Hook) and Paul Breheny (The Cook).

It takes the viewer on an entertaining journey from sourcing fresh seafood in pristine waters to the preparation of delicous dishes at a range of amazing on-site locations.

The Fraser Coast episodes features the team chasing fish in The Great Sandy Strait and then cooking beautiful fresh seafood meals using bush tucker elements.
