Mask mandate for schools could be removed

The last year of high school can be a rollercoaster for many seniors as they bid farewell to their school journey.

From house captains and cultural captains, to spirit and student council leaders, high schools across the Fraser Coast have selected who they want to represent their school in 2022.

Setting a shining example for their fellow classmates, these leaders are making their school community, teachers and principals proud.

St Mary’s College Deputy Principal Martin Cordery said even during this time, the college’s leaders were thinking about all the ways to bring the community together.

“This year our College Leaders are facing great challenges building up the community together when we can’t all gather together,” Mr Cordery said.

“They have planned a series of fabulous events to get everyone included but socially distanced.

“Our College is proud to be represented by such a wonderful group of students.”

On behalf of the school leaders of Xavier Catholic College a spokesman said the leadership team was excited to collaborate with the College house.

“As a team they intend to foster an inclusive community that welcomes each person with profound respect, and encourages all to be ‘people for others’ who are dedicated to seeking justice and peace,” they said.
