From pools and ocean views to resort-style grounds, here are some of the region’s dream homes of 2024 in one of its most expensive streets, who owns them and what they paid.

Sawmill Rd is one of the wealthiest streets in the Fraser Coast.

A suburb that offers a relaxing lifestyle while still being an easy commute to the business district, Dundowran Beach on the Fraser Coast has exploded in popularity and price this decade.

Since January 2020, the average house price at Dundowran Beach has increased by more than $400,000 with about $970,000 needed to buy in the area, though some of the more pricey properties are well over $1 million.

Sawmill Rd is no exception, with five homes worth more than a million dollars on the road.

Here is the list of the ritzy houses that make up Sawmill Rd and who their owners are:

#1 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Rd’s most expensive property is owned by Pauline Bernadette Kelly and John Nickolas Byron

The street’s most expensive property belongs to Pauline Bernadette Kelly and John Nickolas Byron, who own properties in Torquay, Nikenbah and Maryborough.

A 1.1ha sprawling estate with six bedrooms, the pair bought the property for $1.75 million in December 2023 from Summer Manor Pty Ltd. The home is just minutes from the beach.

#2 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Road’s second most expensive property is owned by Graham Anthony Holmes and Patricia Karen Holmes.

The second most valuable home on the street belongs to Graham Anthony Holmes and Patricia Karen Holmes.

The couple bought the property in October 2023 from Stephen Alexander Johnston and Kylieanne Codey for $1.4 million.

The five-bedroom, two-bathroom property which has previously been rented for a pricey $800 per week also has an in-ground pool.

They own property in Jimboomba and Mundoolun along with the 2019sq m house.

#3 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Road’s third most expensive property is owned by Kurt Erwin Fassler

The bronze medal has been awarded to Kurt Erwin Fassler for this property.

Bought for $1.2 million in 2022 from David Neil Cadman the 4250sq m property is described as a “practical and functionally designed five-bedroom home which brings the beautiful Hervey Bay lifestyle to your front door”.

Previous owners Kathie Strathy and David Cadman made almost a $700,000 profit when they sold the property after purchasing it for $530,000 in 2017.

#4 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Road’s fourth most expensive property is owned by Jessica Mason and Adam Bernard Chapman-Mason.

This property has belonged to Jessica Mason and Adam Bernard Chapman-Mason since February 2023.

They bought the “spacious and highly desirable property” for $1.15 million from Heatley residents Michael and Allison Lee.

Fleur Keys of Ray Edward Real Estate was the real estate agent responsible for the property’s sale.

Along with this property, the Mason’s own a one-storey house in Alice St, Maryborough which they purchased in October 2021, for $310,000.

#5 Sawmill Rd

qSawmill Road’s fifth most expensive property is owned by Stefanie Gubbay.

Owned by Stefanie Gubby, who bought the 4000sq m estate in 2016, this home in Sawmill Rd is on the market and there are expectations the property could sell well beyond the million-dollar mark when it goes to auction on February 24, 2024.

The property valuation is currently $1.36 million according to Core Logic which they give in “high confidence”.

Built in 1998, the property consists of five bedrooms and four bathrooms and “offers a timeless blend of architectural elegance and modern functionality set on a sprawling acre of perfectly manicured lawns and gardens”.

Buyers with a green thumb will be fans of the established fruit trees on the property alongside a vegetable patch.

Chai Sainsbury of The Onsite Manager has been put in charge of getting the sale through.

#6 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Road’s sixth most expensive property is owned by Shara Lee Anne Feneck and Mark Steven Feneck.

Owned by Shara Lee Anne Feneck and Mark Steven Feneck since November 2021, this Sawmill Rd property is available for rent at $680 per week.

On the beachfront, the 3418sq m property offers direct access to Dundowran Beach and the listing says “you will feel spoilt at this spacious executive residence”.

The Feneck have a property empire across the North Coast region owning no less than five properties across Elliot Heads, Maroochydore, Buderim and Dundowran Beach.

#7 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Road’s seventh most expensive property, number 49, is owned by Theresa Helena Imboden-Johnson and Allan Grant Johnson

Allan Grant Johnson and Theresa Helena Imboden-Johnson have held the keys to 49 Sawmill Rd since November 2017, after buying the 3325sq m property for $950,000 from Jean and John Toplis.

The house has a history of long-term stays with the Toplis’ staying for 16 years after they moved to Dundowran from Parramatta.

#8 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Road’s eight most expensive property is owned by Gimino and Sandy Rizzi.

This listing for Sawmill Rd says “from the moment you walk through the main entrance you will be captivated by the attractive entry and the abundance of modern and highly desirable features”.

The property captivated Sandy and Gimmo Rizzi who bought if off Richard David Griffiths and Jean Griffiths for $810,000 in October 2021.

The four bedroom, two-bathroom house is set on 2,375 m² which includes a pool and a games room.

#9 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Road's ninth most expensive property is owned by Dallas Michele Weare and Stephen Hugh Weare.

This property was bought for $693,000 by Dallas and Stephen Weare from Jason and Susan Lynch in January 2019.

It is the Weare’s second property on the Fraser Coast with a property at Whitaker Court also in their portfolio.

The property is currently estimate to have worth on $1.13 million according to CoreLogic.

#10 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Road's tenth most expensive property is owned by Sharon Maree and Jamie Francis Worner.

With 4000sq m in land, this is one of the largest properties on the street.

Sharon and Jamie Worner have owned the property since April 2004 after buying it for $550,000 from Jennifer Sandra Little.

The four bedroom, two bathroom house was first built in 1996 and has is valued at $1.03 million.

#11 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Roads 11th most expensive property is owned by Stacey Thi Ann and Tim Wang.

Built in 2004 on 2016sq m, the property has been in the hands of Stacey and Ann Wang since August 2007.

They bought it for $535,000 from Daniel Kelly.

The four-bedroom, two bathroom which includes a airconditioned lounge room, spacious kitchen, lounge, dining & family room is the sole property for the Wangs.

#12 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Roads 12th most expensive property is owned by Leeza and Darrell James Hielscher.

The second-largest property in terms of land size on the street, at 9946sqm, has been in the hands of Lezza and Darren Hierschler since July 2014. They bought it from Nancy Daniel for $520,000.

Mrs Daniel’s farewell message to the property her and her late husband Graeme lived at for 16 years was:

“I hope that the new owners will appreciate and love this magical environment as much as my late husband Graeme and I did. Looking out though the kitchen windows every morning and seeing the sun filtering though the paperbarks, watching the birds at the birdbaths in the afternoon and being a custodian of this beautiful old remnant of Dundowran Beach vine scrub has been an honour.”

#13 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Roads 13th most expensive property is owned by Lori Anne Edwards and Kylie Narelle Dunlop.

This “versatile property” at Dundowran Beach, which in its listing is “an opportunity for someone looking for dual-living by the beach in a blue-chip location” is owned by Lori Edwards and Kylie Dunlop.

They have owned the property since October 2016 after buying it off Catherine Wood for $515,000.

The five bedroom, three bathroom house is valued at $1.1 million by Core Logic.

#14 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Road's 14th most expensive property is owned by David Son Nguyen Pham.

Owned by David Pham since February 2008, this property is currently listed for sale and has been on the market for 112 days.

Mr Pham bought the five bedroom, two bathroom house for $502,500 from previous owner Geoffrey Phillips in February 2008.

The listing described the house as a “opportunity to escape to a tranquil coastal paradise with this spacious 4-bedroom family home nestled on 1/2 acre of prime beachside land”.

“Whether you’re looking for a family home, vacation retreat, or an investment property, this residence promises a wealth of potential and value appreciation”.

#15 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Road's 15th most expensive property is owned by Ian and Sandra Bithell.

Owned since January 2009 by Sandra and Ian Bithell, this property is described as having “plenty to offer”.

The Bithells bought it for $499,000 off Neil and Carol Harvey and have listed it for rent for $450 per week.

The listing says “this property has plenty to offer” including a huge kitchen, separate loungeroom, master bedroom with ensuite, airconditioned living area and a large deck along with a double bay garage.

#16 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Road's 16th most expensive property is owned by Vivianne Ruth Kissane and Michael Andrew Kissane

With private access onto the beach, it is no wonder Michael and Vivianne Kissane are listing this beachfront property for rent for a pricey $650 per week. The Kissanes have owned the property since September 2018 buying it for $481,000 from Alison Hardy and Janet Franklin.

#17 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Road's 17th most expensive property is owned by Irene Alice Cooper and Stephen John Cooper.

Currently listed for rent at $750 a week, this property has been in the hands of Irene and Stephen Cooper since January 2017.

The Coopers bought the 2019sq m property for $479,000 from Peter and Yvonne Fisher.

They have amassed a huge property empire across Queensland owning 27 properties across the state.

The locations of these properties include Victoria Park, Noosaville, Dundowran Beach, Portsmith, Meridan Plains, Albany Creek, Moorooboll, Mount Sheridan, Redland Bay and Springfield Lakes.

#18 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Road's 18th most expensive property is owned by Judith Hatfield and Philip Austin Hatfield.

With the listing declaring it “ready to move into and presenting true value for money”, Philip and Judith Hatfield bought the property for $425,000 in February 2015.

Previous owners Paul and Lynette Bradford lived in the four-bedroom, two-bedroom house from 2007 to 2015.

#19 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Road’s 19th most expensive property is owned by Linda Margaret Walker, Gary and Laurie Walker

Set high on the hill, this home gives residents perfect views of the sunrise and sunsets across Hervey Bay.

Gary and Linda Walker have seen plenty in their seven years at the property.

They bought the house for $338,000 from previous owner Louise Johnston in August 2016.

#20 Sawmill Rd

Sawmill Streets 20th most expensive property is owned by Ashwini and Remal Singh.

After 140 days on the market, this home in Sawmill Rd was snapped up for $263,000 by Ashwini and Remal Singh.

They bought the property off Laurence Ries in October 2015.
