A pet shop like no other around town, this pet boutique offers a range of quirky bits and bobs for your dogs.
Trendy Petz, located on 29 Main Street, has all the cutest pet-themed things you could be searching for.
Dundowran Beach resident and Trendy Petz Owner Tracey Smith has her fur-babies to thank for the idea to open the store.
“My love for my animals has inspired me to do something like this … We’re not the normal pet shop,” Tracey told the Chronicle.
“It’s not necessarily the normal sort of stuff that you’ll find, it’s a little bit different.
“We go into the fun stuff, like, outfits and dog treats … Handbags, hats and GoPros for your dog, so you can see a day in the life of your dog.”
Toy Poodle Frankie, Tracey’s newest addition to her four-legged family of three, will greet you at the door.
And, you’re welcome to bring your pets inside, too.
“(Customers) are more than welcome to bring their pets into the shop for fittings … We can do special orders if there’s something specific that they’d like to purchase for their dogs,” Tracey said.
“We range from your small Chihuahua size right up to your Great Dane sizing … It’s not necessarily just for your small, small pets.”
But, if dog outfits aren’t your style, the boutique also has giftware options.
“We’ve got cute signs, homeware … There’s the doggie pots with cactuses in them, too,” Tracey said.
The most popular thing in Trendy Petz so far seems to be dog shoes.
“The shoes have been popular for paddle-boarding, kayaks, things like that with the hot sand,” she said.
“Also, the winter jackets that we’ve got … People can just bring their pets in and we’ll measure them up perfectly, the order comes in within a week.
“The weatherproof (jackets), the (carry) bags and, the carry harnesses, they’ve been really popular.”
If you spend over $100 in-store, you also get a free bottle of wine.
“And, 50 cents of that is donated to the pet rescue … They can choose from a chardonnay wine, Ruby Rosé or a shiraz,” Tracey said.
“A lot of my stock is from local suppliers … Anybody local who’s interested in coming on-board should reach out to me, I’d be happy to work with them.”
