Both of the teens accused of the murder of Hervey Bay Uber driver Scott Cabrie have had their matters mentioned in court.
Tye Wayne Porter, 18, appeared briefly in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Monday, where his matter was adjourned until April 20, 2023.
He has been charged with murder, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, arson, armed robbery and deprivation of liberty – unlawfully detain.
His murder co-accused, 17, who cannot be named due to his age, had his case mentioned in Hervey Bay Children’s Court on Tuesday.
Detective Superintendent Darrin Shadlow addressed media on Monday morning where he confirmed the chilling details of how Mr Cabrie went to work and never returned – a situation he said amounted to “tragic circumstances”.

Detective Superintendent Shadlow said the Toogoom man had been working as an Uber driver early on Tuesday, February 7 when he received a job to collect three people from a home.
Two of the three have been charged with murder, however the third person is not considered a suspect and is helping police with investigations.
Weapons were then used to try to rob Mr Cabrie, and in the attempt, he was killed, Detective Superintendent Shadlow said.
“Police will allege that a robbery was attempted of that male Uber driver which unfortunately escalated and that male person was subsequently killed by these people,” he said.
Detective Superintendent Shadlow said a homicide inquiry started on February 10 after Mr Cabrie did not turn up for work and friends became concerned.
The next day, a search was carried out in the Pacific Haven area, before being broadened to the boat ramp at Power House Rd, Howard, where Mr Cabrie’s body was found.
“It’s certainly a tragic, tragic circumstance where a 47-year-old person goes about their business and unfortunately doesn’t come home,” Detective Superintendent Shadlow said.
“It affects obviously his immediate family and friends but also the wider Hervey Bay community.”
Police will allege weapons were involved in the incident but could not confirm what the weapons were or what injuries Mr Cabrie had sustained.
He said Uber was assisting police with investigations.
The police investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information on suspicious activity, particularly around the Pacific Haven and Howard boat ramp areas, is encouraged to come forward and talk to police.
