Three boys charged over Torquay Esplanade break-ins
Police have arrested and charged three boys over a series of break and enter and robberies at Hervey Bay.

Three boys have been charged over a spate of break-ins on the Esplanade in Torquay.
Police said on Friday a 17-year-old, a 12-year-old and one other male had been charged with numerous offences including stealing and entering premises.
The break-ins occurred across three days from September 5-7, and all attacks happened between 10pm and 2:30am.

Two businesses, Cafe Tapas and Flavours on the Esplanade, suffered heavy damage in the break-ins and had their windows bordered up on Thursday morning.

Cafe Tapas manager Mimi Phonseya said “seven times in six months” her business had been targeted.
She said “it is not safe” to work on the Esplanade anymore and that she held concerns for the future of the business.
The 17-year-old and 12-year-old will appear before Hervey Bay Children’s Court at a later date while the other boy was dealt with under provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
