A Point Vernon man has been found guilty of sexually abusing and raping a child in Hervey Bay District Court.
The man who cannot be named for legal reasons was found guilty on Wednesday morning, October 18, 2023, of five charges, including one count of maintaining an unlawful relationship with a child, three counts of rape and one count of indecent treatment of a child under 12 years as a carer.
All were DV offences and took place in Hervey Bay within the past three years.

He was found not guilty of two additional counts of rape.
The file was transferred to the Brisbane District Court for sentence on 27th October 2023 and the defendant remanded in custody.
