Investigation continues into fiery fatal crash at Duckinwilla

Authorities are working to identify the driver of a van who was killed weeks ago on the Fraser Coast when their vehicle hit a tree and exploded in flames.

A fatal crash at Duckinwilla, near Howard, last month is being investigated by the Forensic Crash Unit.

Initial investigations indicated about 6.45am on May 14, a van was travelling along Duckinwilla Road on the Fraser Coast when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The crash caused the van to ignite and become engulfed in fire.

Upon the arrival of emergency services, the driver and only occupant was found dead within the vehicle.

A police spokeswoman said investigations were still underway to identify the driver.
