Driver killed in crash at Duckinwilla near Howard

A driver is still yet to be identified after a fatal crash near Howard, which left a van engulfed by flames.

A fatal crash at Duckinwilla, near Howard, on Sunday is being investigated by the Forensic Crash Unit.

A driver is still yet to be identified after a fiery fatal crash at Duckinwilla, near Howard, on Sunday.

Initial investigations indicate about 6.45am, a van was travelling along Duckinwilla Road when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The crash caused the van to ignite and become engulfed in fire.

Upon the arrival of emergency services, the driver and only occupant was found dead within the vehicle.

Investigations are underway to identify the driver.

It comes after 41-year-old Tinana woman Jodie Paterson (Russell) was killed in a crash on the Bruce Highway at Chatsworth on Friday.
