A former FIFO miner has been found not guilty of maintaining an unlawful sexual relationship with his stepdaughter after a six-day trial in Hervey Bay.

A stepfather who stood trial accused of inappropriately touching his teenage stepdaughter has been found not guilty by a jury.
The 63-year-old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to maintaining an unlawful sexual relationship with a child under 16 when he appeared before Hervey Bay District Court.
The man, who had been working as a FIFO worker at the time, had been accused of kissing and inappropriately touching his stepdaughter over the course of a few years from 2010, with the girl making a complaint to police in 2018.
On Tuesday, after a six-day trial, the jury found him not guilty of the charge.
