The trial of a former Fraser Coast masseuse has been delayed in Hervey Bay District Court.
Anthony John Pittorino, 73, will stand trial next month on five counts of rape and six counts of sexual assault.
Police will allege that the charges relate to Mr Pittorino’s time as a masseuse in Pacific Haven.
Mr Pittorino’s trial was scheduled to begin in Hervey Bay District Court on Monday, September 12.
Defence barrister C O’Meara told the court new information has come about from the complainant which needs to be put to his client.
The court heard the trial was adjourned so the defence could consider the new material to properly prepare.
Crown prosecutor Elise Sargent did not oppose the adjournment.
Judge Tony Moynihan KC adjourned the matter to the next Hervey Bay District Court sittings which will start on October 3.
Mr Pittorino’s bail was enlarged.
