Hervey Bay man rushed to hospital with stab wound to stomach

A man has been stabbed at a Hervey Bay home during an altercation with two males during which one allegedly pulled out a knife.

A man aged in his 20s has been rushed to hospital after suffering a stab wound to his abdomen.

The incident happened in Scarness at a location in Oleander Avenue about 7.09pm on Monday.

A police spokeswoman confirmed officers were investigating the incident.

Initial investigations indicate about 7pm, two male offenders, one armed with a knife, attended a residence on Oleander Avenue.

An altercation has then occurred with a male resident at the address sustaining a stab wound to the abdomen.

Both of the offenders have then left the scene in a vehicle.

The man was transported in a stable condition to Hervey Bay Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Another man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and will appear in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Police will allege the men were known to each other.
