Fraser Coast Regional Council faces Hervey Bay Magistrates Court

A Qld council will plead guilty to a Workplace Health and Safety breach, a court has heard.

The case was mentioned before Magistrate Trinity McGarvie at Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The council is charged with one count of failing to ensure the regulator was notified of a notifiable incident stemming from September 28, 2023.

It is understood no one was injured.

Representatives from the council and Workplace Health and Safety were not present when the case was mentioned.

Ms McGarvie said the council had indicated it intended to enter a plea of guilty to the charge.

The case was listed for sentence at 2pm on July 15, 2025.
