Woman dies being hit by ute at Hervey Bay

A 39-year-old Logan woman has died after being struck by a ute at Hervey Bay on Tuesday night.

Police said emergency services were called to the intersection of Toogoom Cane Road and Pialba Burrum Road at Toogoom around 6.25pm, following reports of a woman being struck by a GWM Cannon ute.

A 39-year-old Waterford West woman was treated at the scene for critical injuries; however, she was later declared deceased.

The driver of the ute, a 31-year-old Eli Waters man, was physically uninjured and stopped at the scene to render assistance.

Anyone in the area at the time of the incident who may have dashcam footage, is urged to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.

Earlier, authorities reported the road was closed between Toogoom Rd and Carkeet Rd as police and paramedics worked at the scene.

Diversions were in place, but motorists were urged to avoid the area or expect delays.
