A Blue Care Worker accused of unlawful sexual contact with an intellectually impaired client has been found not guilty on all charges.

Daryl Robert Lederhose was charged with one count of indecent dealing and three counts of unlawful carnal knowledge of a person with an impairment of the mind.

The jury was selected on Monday and heard testimony from the woman and others during the trial.

Crown prosecutor Katrina Overell said in her opening statement of Mr Lederhose’s trial in Hervey Bay District Court he had been working for Blue Care for about 12 years and was a coordinator for services provided through the National Disability Insurance Scheme, which is how he met the woman.

Ms Overell said the woman had allegedly told other Blue Care workers Mr Lederhose had sex with her on two occasions in 2018 after she told him to stop.

On Thursday after hearing closing statements from the defence and prosecution, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty, prompting tears from Mr Lederhose and his family, who were supporting him in court.
