In January, he was shot in the head after an alleged altercation at a Maryborough unit block, an incident that he miraculously survived.

Police later arrested Todd Gary Ashwood for the attempted murder of Mr Baumgart, who remarked to this publication that his life “should be made into a Netflix series”.

His lawyer, Warren Hunter, asked Mr Milburn for a lengthy adjournment for the matter so an indictment could be prepared.

The matter was adjourned to December 16, with Mr Baumgart’s bail enlarged.
