Most improved Fraser Coast NAPLAN schools revealed in last 5 years
The Fraser Coast schools bucking trends by continually improving NAPLAN scores have been revealed, along with those which have gone backwards.

Hervey Bay State High School at Pialba recorded the biggest improvement for a secondary school with average year 9 NAPLAN results increasing by 5.45 per cent over the past five years of NAPLAN.
Fraser Coast Anglican College at Wondunna was the second best with a 2.77 per cent increase followed by Maryborough State High School with an increase of 2.69 per cent.
Hervey Bay State High School responded to the improvement in NAPLAN results.

“We are pleased to see that our upwards trend, for a number of years now, continues to climb in the areas of reading, spelling, grammar and punctuation and numeracy, which is bucking the downwards trend at a regional, state and national levels,” the school said.
“Our school continues to be similar to the nation for the National Minimum Standard for these areas as well, and above like schools in our North Coast Region.”
Meanwhile, Bauple State School recorded the biggest improvement for a primary school with the average Year 5 NAPLAN results increasing by 13.97 per cent over the past five years of NAPLAN.
Fraser Coast Anglican College was the second best with an increase of 6.21 per cent followed by Urangan Point State School with an increase of 6.17 per cent.
Top Year 12 students, duxes of 2022 revealed
The analysis compared the five year change in NAPLAN results from 2017 and 2021 and revealed the schools which have improved their Year 5 and Year 9 student scores the most.
It was calculated by each school’s combined results for each NAPLAN subject in 2017 and compared to the same results in 2021.
Meanwhile, Granville State School recorded the lowest improvement for a primary school with the average Year 5 NAPLAN results returning a result of -12.48 per cent over the past five years of NAPLAN.
While, Bayside Christian College recorded the lowest improvement for a secondary school returning a result of -6.35 per cent over the past five years.
