A man has been transported to Hervey Bay Hospital after suffering a serious head injury in a workplace incident in Maryborough on Friday.

The incident reportedly happened on Alice St about 11.45am.

The man was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

A spokesman from WorkSafe Queensland said the incident had been reported to the organisation.

He said the incident had happened when a crane carrying a load hit a worker.

The spokesman said he could not identify the workplace involved.

It comes after a man was injured in a separate incident involving a forklift in Urangan on Thursday.

He was taken to hospital with a leg injury.
