Man suffers facial burns in late night backyard fire at Tinana

A man in his 20s has suffered burns to his face after a backyard fire accident on the Fraser Coast while firefighters rushed to separate suspicious car blazes in the same region overnight. DETAILS.

A man has suffered facial burns in a fire overnight at Tinana.

The man, aged in his 20s, was injured in a backyard fire at a private address about 12.21am on Friday.

He was transported to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.

In separate incidents, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called out to car fires, one at Dundathu and one at Walligan.

About 9.19pm, crews were called to the scene of a vehicle alight on Carter Rd on Thursday.

The vehicle was well alight when crews arrived but was quickly extinguished.

In Walligan at 9.16pm, a car fire was reported on a mud track near Dundowran Rd.

Police are investigating both car fires.

It comes after vehicles were stolen from a suburban Gympie property in the early hours of New Year’s Day in an unrelated incident.
