A three-vehicle traffic crash on Friday morning in Hervey Bay was assisted by local fireys who happened to be driving along the same road.
The local fire crew were returning from another job when driving along the Esplanade in Pialba, before they noticed the incident at about 11.51am.
The crash, which the fire station had not yet been alerted to, was then attended to by the passing fireys as they stopped to assist.
Police were also at the scene, taking statements from the drivers and passengers of the cars involved in the crash.
Senior Sergeant Darcy Horgan told the Chronicle the crash was a result of a mistake by a female driver, who thought another car was heading in a different direction.
“A vehicle was travelling west along the Esplanade then collided with another vehicle attempting to turn right on to Taylor Street,” Sgt Horgan said.
“Which resulted in another car being run into.”
Smashed car pieces on the road – as a result of the crash – were being cleared, as officers redirected traffic.
There were three separate tow-trucks at the scene, taking away the damaged vehicles.
Sgt Horgan confirmed no one was injured.
