Joe Antony Drobny pleaded guilty in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court to one count of possessing a knife in a public place.

The court heard he had been stopped by police while driving in Brisbane.

Officers noticed the axe wedged between the driver’s seat and the centre console.

Dronby told officers he used the axe for “plumbing”.

Police prosecutor Sonia Edwards explained the axe had a sharp edge capable of cutting.

Drobny was fined $150.
