Jesse James Beech, 21, pleaded guilty to wilful damage, drug offences

A court has heard how a young disability pensioner, who committed drug offences and a terrifying road rage crime with his alleged meth ring leader dad, may be “lacking the necessary role models”.

A father and son charged over their alleged roles in a major meth trafficking ring also terrorised a mother and her three children, slamming into her car and throwing glass bottles at it, a court has heard.

Jesse James Beech, 21, pleaded guilty in Hervey Bay District Court to one count of wilful damage and four counts of supplying a dangerous drug.

The court heard Beech had been a passenger in the vehicle, allegedly being driven by his father, Kim Beech, who is charged with dangerous driving.

During the incident, Kim allegedly swerved in front of the woman’s vehicle, which was also carrying her three children.

He would then brake suddenly and was described as driving erratically.

He then allegedly rear ended the vehicle, after which he and his son threw “about 12 glass bottles” at the car, the court heard.

The woman was left terrified by their actions, the court was told, and now suffered from anxiety.

Her children had also been left scared and anxious by the events of that evening.

The four supply charges also allegedly stemmed from the alleged actions of Beech’s father, the court heard.

His father had been the main target of a police investigation into the alleged supply of meth in Hervey Bay.

Jesse Beech’s offending had been discovered during the course of the investigation after police intercepted communications on his father’s phone.

The court heard Beech had driven to Brisbane to collect and supply his father with meth.

Beech was receiving a disability pension and had been diagnosed with autism.

Judge Suzanne Sheridan said the road rage situation had been “created and escalated” by Beech’s father.

She said given both the drug offences and road rage incident was linked to his father, Beech might be “lacking the necessary role models at home”.

“Drugs, as I hope you’re aware, destroy lives,” Judge Sheridan said.

Beech was sentenced to 18 months on probation.
