Thousands of people gathered at the Hervey Bay Seafood Festival on Saturday, where foodies enjoyed a day out with friends and family sharing delicious seafood platters, regional brews, and street food.

There were lengthy queues to get into the festival at the Seafront Oval, with the longest line at the Boat Harbour Fisheries stall which served up fresh seafood platters.

The main stage was the hub of live music throughout the day, with a line-up of artists entertaining the bumper crowd.

There were also cooking demonstrations held at the Castaway Kitchen by chefs including Jason England from Odyssey Bistro and Saul Collins from Banksia Seafood & Gril.

Fraser Coast Councillor David Lee said the Seafood Festival was an “iconic event” in Hervey Bay that attracted people from all across the country to celebrate the great food the Fraser Coast region had to offer.
