Hervey Bay man wins $1.7 million in Gold Lotto draw
A Fraser Coast man, who took out $1.7 million in a Gold Lotto draw, says his life has changed overnight.

Left in tears after discovering he had won $1.7 million in the Saturday Gold Lotto draw, a Hervey Bay man said it “still doesn’t feel real”.
He was one of three division one winners, with each entry taking home $1,711,673.
“You have no idea what this means to me and how much good it’s going to do,” he said in a statement
“It still doesn’t feel real. I’ve been in shock for two days.
“You buy entries and hope you might win something but never really expect it.
“Then something like this happens, and your life changes overnight.
“Tell you what, it’s not bad for a Monday, is it?
“I’ll celebrate with my best mate and look to make some plans for the future.
“I can’t wait.”
His winning System 12 QuickPick was purchased at newsXpress Eli Waters.
The store’s manager Monique Drew said the team had been celebrating since they discovered the news on Sunday morning.
“We’ve got heaps of balloons up around the store,” she said.
“I noticed we’d sold a division one winning entry on Sunday morning and couldn’t wait to share the news with our team and customers.
“There’s a real buzz. Our customers are very excited and happy for us but even happier for our lucky winner.
“We want to wish them all the best and hope they’re enjoying the amazing win.”
