Oaklands Park sisters who won X Lotto say they will buy mum ‘anything she wants’

The mystery SA winners of the $1m lotto prize have been found and the two sisters claiming the prize have plans to spoil the person who bought them the ticket – their mum.

A pair of Oaklands Park sisters plan to treat their mum to “anything she wants” after she bought them the winning lotto ticket.

The $1m division one winning entry, which was unregistered, was finally claimed by the women, who wish to stay anonymous.

“Oh my god, I feel numb, I can’t think straight at the moment,” one of the sisters said.

“The ticket was with my mum the entire time because she purchased it for us yesterday afternoon.

“Funnily enough, we were so close to not getting this ticket because our mum told us to not waste our time. But we persisted – I’m so glad we did,” she said.

The pair say they will share the winnings among the three of them, with plans to buy themselves houses as well as a “top of the range recliner and wheelchair” for their mum.

Their division-one winning entry was purchased at Campbell’s Newsagency at Westfield in Oaklands Park.

Campbell’s Newsagency team member Chenny Herbett said she couldn’t believe her team had sold another major lottery prize this year.

“This is our third major lottery prize this year and they do say good things come in threes – it’s absolutely fantastic news and we’re so happy,” she said.

Their division one winning entry was purchased at Campbell’s Newsagency, Oaklands Park.

The division-one prize is expected to be paid on Tuesday December 20, according to The Lott spokesperson, Anna Hobdell.

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw 4240 on Monday 5 December 2022 were 28, 23, 9, 25, 44, 15, while the supplementary numbers were 2 and 4.

Over the years, several lucky Australians have seen their wildest dreams come true thanks to a mega lotto win.

In July 2022, an Adelaide woman discovered she was one of four division one X Lotto winners, entitling her to a whopping $1.3m in prizemoney. The win was extra shocking because, at first, she initially thought she’d won only $1000.
