A funeral will be held next week for a much-loved husband and father after a boating tragedy earlier this month.
The body of Darryn Kimlin, 42, was recovered on November 5 after he went missing during a boating trip on the Mary River.
He had last contacted family about 3.50pm on Saturday and indicated he was fishing in the mouth of the Mary River at Beaver Rock, the area where his boat was later recovered.
In his funeral notice, Mr Kimlin was remembered as the much-loved husband of Cass, adored dad of Tess and a “bloody good mate to all”.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, Mr Kimlin’s employers released a statement.
Lyons Diesel Maintenance posted on Facebook about the sad loss.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the sad news of Darryn’s passing,” the post read.
“Darryn was not just one of our mechanics but our family.
“One of a kind, salt of the earth, just downright awesome bloke.
“A fierce protectiveness for those he loved and worked alongside.
“He is going to be missed more than words could ever say.”
The funeral for Mr Kimlin will be held on November 22 from 2pm at the Heritage Chapel at Maryborough Crematorium.
