The case against a former Fraser Coast primary school teacher, charged with child sex abuse offences, has returned to court.
John Vincent Lewis faces five counts of indecent treatment of a child under 12.
Police will allege the former long-serving Maryborough primary school teacher’s charges relate to alleged offences committed during his time in that respected position.
Mr Lewis did not appear in Hervey Bay District Court in person on Tuesday.
Instead, his lawyer appeared via phone link.
The court heard the indictment had only been presented in late October and Mr Lewis would need more time to seek legal advice.
The case was adjourned until the next district court call-over.
