Emergency services rushed to the scene of a siege on a suburban street at Hervey Bay on Thursday morning.
The Fraser Coast Chronicle understands police were called to an address on Goroka St, Kawungan, in relation to a welfare check and the siege has now ended.
Just days ago, an incident at West Mackay stemming from a welfare check ended in tragedy when police were forced to shoot an armed man at a unit complex.

Fire crews responded to reports of a house fire at the Kawungan address about 10.30am, but it is understood there was no fire at the time.
A neighbour, who asked to remain anonymous, said multiple emergency service crews including at least four to five police vehicles, Ergon Energy and the dog squad have arrived at the address.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said there was no threat to the public.
The incident has now ended.
