Don't forget Labour Day has been moved from May to October

DON'T be fooled by out-of-date calendars, the Labour Day public holiday has been moved from May to the first Monday in October.

DON'T be fooled by out-of-date calendars, the Labour Day public holiday has been moved from May to the first Monday in October.

The Queensland Government made the change last year which Attorney-General Jarrod Bleijie said brought the state into line with all other states and territories except Western Australia.

In announcing the change in August last year, Mr Bleijie said moving the Labour Day public holiday to October broke up  the concentration of public holidays that generally fell in the April-May period and provided a break to workers during the second half of the year.
