Tributes flow for Ellis David Pollard
An avid bowler and beloved grandfather who failed to return from a trip to check his crab pots has been remembered as a ‘true gentlemen in every sense of the word’.

Tributes have poured in for beloved Toogoom grandfather Ellis David Pollard after he was found dead near Beelbi Creek on the Fraser Coast on Monday.
Mr Pollard failed to return home after leaving to check his crab pots.
The 87-year-old nicknamed “Tiger” by his family and friends has been remembered as a “true gentleman in every sense of the word”.
Mr Pollard’s grandson James posted his own tribute to his grandfather on social media, saying “though it may haunt us and break our hearts. Death cannot tear us apart”.

James’ wife Katie Pollard posted: “Rest in peace Poppy Tiger, you will be sorely missed us all. We hope you’re looking down on us doing all the things you loved.”
Burgowan Bowls Club, of which Mr Pollard was a longtime member, released a statement on Tuesday after police revealed on Monday Mr Pollard had been found dead.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved friend and patron, Ellis “Tiger” Pollard. RIP TIGER – you will be greatly missed.”
