Brady Allsworth voted Fraser Coast’s coolest dad in online poll

Being a dad comes naturally to Brady Allsworth, a 27-year-old personal carer and dad of two. And whether it’s exchanging “I love yous” with his little girl or skating down the Esplanade, they’re all moments that are special.

Hervey Bay father Brady Allsworth is humble about being crowned the region’s coolest dad.

“I couldn’t believe it,” he said.

The 27-year-old is dad to two daughters - four-year-old Piper and newborn Milla.

“There’s so many cool dads out there. It’s something I didn’t expect would happen.

“I don’t think I’m the coolest, every dad’s cool in their own way. There’s lots of good local dads out there.”

Mr Allsworth is modest in his title and firmly believes he’s not the only cool, dedicated dad in the region.

He shared his outlook on being a dad with the Fraser Coast Chronicle, expressing his joy at having two “gorgeous” daughters.

“It’s so many different elements,” Mr Allsworth said.

With oldest daughter Piper, from a previous relationship, it’s going out skateboarding or to the beach.

“She’d sit on the board and just hold her hands out and we’d go along the Esplanade,” he said.

While Piper is growing a little too big to ride up front of a board, there are still so many special moments.

“Like when she says she loves you. She just walks past and she goes ‘I love you dad’,” Mr Allsworth said.

Caring comes naturally to Mr Allsworth, who swapped a career in retail for personal carer where he’s developed a rapport with his client.

“It’s the best thing I’ve ever done career-wise,” he said.

“I’d recommend everyone does it.”

But even in retail Mr Allsworth found ways to show people he cared.

He described his customers as Woolworth’s as “lovely” and said he will always remember the day one lady was shopping on her birthday.

Mr Allsworth bought her a small gift card and it brought tears to her eyes.

Mr Allsworth thanked everyone who voted for him.

“I just love everything with my daughters,” he said.
