A beautiful spring morning welcomed athletes of all ages as they competed in the gruelling Hervey Bay 100km Triathlon on Sunday.

Australia’s best triathletes descended on Hervey Bay on Sunday morning to take part in the Hervey Bay 100 Triathlon.
The gruelling course – consisting of a 2km swim, 80km cycle and 18km run – took place in and around The Esplanade in Scarness.

Supporters lined the route to cheer on their loved ones as they duelled it out under scorching temperatures as high as 27C.
In the end it was Nicholas Free who won the mens open category in a time of 03:29:37, 3 minutes ahead of runner up Joshua Begbie.
Sarah Crowley wons the womens event in a time of 03:50:43, 10 minutes ahead of Renee Kiley.
