Carolyn Burns killed after being struck by her own car in Maryborough

A 79-year-old woman who tragically died after being struck by her own vehicle in a Queensland shopping centre carpark has been identified.

A beloved wife, mother and grandmother has been identified as the woman who was struck and killed by her own vehicle at a Maryborough shopping centre on Friday.

Carolyn Burns, 79, was critically injured about 5pm on March 31 when her vehicle rolled in the car park of Maryborough Central Shopping Centre.

In a funeral notice for Mrs Burns, she was remembered as the beloved wife of Graeme, to whom she had been married for 58 years, and mother of David, Ian and Megan.

The post said a private family service would be held in accordance with Mrs Burns’ wishes.

Tributes flowed for Ms Burns this week, with Noelene Schiefelbein writing “sleep peacefully my beautiful high school friend”.

“Remembering our wonderful carefree days with love,” she wrote.

Lesli Thomas wrote: “thinking of the family. Much love to you all”.

“A beautiful lady who will be sadly missed,” Maryan McGown wrote.
