Memories have been shared of a beloved Fraser Coast teacher who was killed in a horror crash at Tinana on Tuesday.

Torbanlea's Julie Stout, 61, died at the scene when a truck allegedly crossed to the wrong side of the Bruce Highway and collided with her four-wheel drive.

She had been returning home after work at Gunalda State School, where she was a teacher.

Close family friend Guy Meredith said Ms Stout had changed the lives of the children she had taught.

"Everyone that she comes into contact with is better for it," he said.

"She has changed people that she's met, changed them for the better."

With an unendingly positive nature, Ms Stout would be remembered as someone who was always smiling, but who was also fiercely independent, Mr Meredith said.

She was a selfless person who put everyone else before herself.

Mother to Holly, Fraser and Wade and an adored grandmother, Ms Stout was devoted to her family and had been a source of support for her friends, he said.

Ally Willis said Ms Stout was a "beautiful lady" who had taught both her daughters at Gundiah State School.

Summing up her loss, Ms Willis wrote: "you were a beautiful lady … lots of sad kids out there".

She said both her children had fond memories of their teacher.

"She certainly left a beautiful impression in their hearts," Ms Willis said.

Commenting on the Chronicle's Facebook page, Wendy Manning also shared her memories of Ms Stout.

"Such a beautiful teacher, taught my daughter so much," she wrote.

Investigations into the crash are continuing.

No charges have been laid in relation to the crash.
