The third member of an alleged family-run meth ring which operated between Hervey Bay and Logan has been sentenced.

Beau James Beech, 33, pleaded guilty in Hervey Bay District Court to supplying dangerous drugs.

The charges stem from a police operation which followed Beau’s father, alleged ringleader Kim Beech.

Earlier this month, two other members of the enterprise, Mellessa “Ruby” Togo, 35, and Beau’s brother, Jesse James Beech, were also sentenced for their roles.

Kim Beech is awaiting a court date in Maryborough Supreme Court.

Togo pleaded guilty to drug trafficking after the court heard she allegedly sourced the drugs from him.

Togo was sentenced to four and a half years in prison when she faced Maryborough Supreme Court, with parole eligibility on June 23.

Jesse Beech, 21, previously pleaded guilty in Hervey Bay District Court to four counts of supplying a dangerous drug.

He was sentenced to 18 months on probation for the drug charges, as well as a wilful damage charge for his part in a road rage incident.

The court heard Beau Beech had arranged two meth supplies on behalf of his father.

His offending had been uncovered when police intercepted communications between he and his father.

He was a man who suffered from significant drug addiction, but while he was in custody he had been free of drugs, the court was told.

Beech had spent 355 days in presentence custody and had used that time to undertake courses to deal with drug and alcohol addiction and to participate in a course involving agriculture and landscaping skills.

He was hoping to find work in that field upon his release.

Judge Suzanne Sheridan commended Beech for using his time in custody productively.

“I’m sure you only too well know how much drugs can destroy a person’s life,” she said.

“It’s a hard road, freeing yourself from an addiction to drugs.”

Beech was sentenced to 18 months in jail with immediate parole release.

Judge Sheridan told Beech to stay committed to staying free of drugs.
