A girl is in serious condition after marine sting on K’gari
Two children have been taken to hospital after being stung by jellyfish on K’gari, including a young boy stung by an Irukandji.

A boy and a girl have been hospitalised on the same day for jellyfish stings on K’gari.
Paramedics have rushed a young boy off K’gari and to Gympie Hospital after a suspected Irukandji jellyfish sting on Sunday at around 1.45pm.
The boy departed the island via the barge between Hook Point and Inskip Point at Rainbow Beach and arrived at Gympie Hospital a few hours later
He was the second child who suffered a reported jellyfish sting.
On Sunday morning a girl was airlifted to hospital following an allergic reaction to a jellyfish sting on K’gari.
A rescue helicopter rushed to Woralie Creek campground on the north-western beachside of K’gari (formerly Fraser Island) after a girl was stung by a jellyfish around 9am this morning.

The helicopter landed on the beach near to the girl’s campsite just before 10am and LifeFlight paramedics treated her for an allergic reaction, a statement from LifeFlight said.
The girl was holidaying with her family.
It is not known what type of jellyfish stung the girl.
She was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
