Family wants revenge after 15-year-old boy’s stabbing death

Two boys are ‘assisting police’ in relation to the stabbing death of a teenager north of Brisbane on Friday night.

TWO youths are “assisting police” in relation to the stabbing death of teenager Angus Beaumont in Redcliffe on Friday night.

It is understood police are speaking to two boys, both aged 14, in relation to Angus’s death.

Angus Beaumont was walking home from McDonald’s at Redcliffe about 8pm on Friday with two other boys and a girl, when they were set upon by a group of three males outside the Redcliffe Museum.

The trio attacked the group, with Angus suffering a fatal knife wound to his chest.

He died in hospital a short time later, police said.

The killers were seen fleeing the scene, with one running off on his own and the other two doubling on a bicycle. They were captured on CCTV.

In a statement, Angus’s parents, Michelle and Ben Beaumont, told The Sunday Mail they can never say goodbye to their son.

“He was a beautiful young smart boy with a loving nature, 6 foot 4 inches and gentle,” they said.

“(He) always thought of his family and was a wonderful human. We still can’t believe our little boy has been taken from us.”

The family said they wanted “justice” for what happened and “revenge” for their “best mate”.

“Words can’t express the feelings we have. We don’t wish this on anybody and only now have memories,” the statement read.

“Angus Richard Beaumont – We love you so much and will always cherish our time together. Love Mum and Dad.”

The crime took place near a popular skatepark behind the Redcliffe Museum. 

Teenagers gathered at the site yesterday to pay their respects.

Messages of love were shared around Redcliffe and on social media yesterday for a boy who was “taken too soon”.

One family left flowers and a note next to the spot where Angus was killed. 

“Your family and friends will miss you dearly,” the note said.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Hogan said the crime appeared to be an unprovoked attack.

Police suspect the killers are known in Redcliffe.

“It’s very difficult to understand what the motivation is. It would appear it’s unprovoked,” Senior Sergeant Hogan said.

“Obviously the family is devastated. They’ve lost their 15-year-old son. I think it would be a reasonable assumption that (the culprits) are known in the Redcliffe area.”

The murder weapon was still to be found on Saturday and police have called on anyone with dashcam footage of Anzac Ave and Oxley Ave between 7pm and 9pm on Friday to call them.
