A young Brisbane woman widowed in tragic circumstances just two weeks before she gave birth to her first child has found love again and welcomed a new bundle of joy into her life.
Emily Hall, who was shattered when her pilot husband Matt Hall, 30, died of heatstroke while riding his dirt bike in a Sunshine Coast forest in January of 2017, is overjoyed at the birth of her second son.
Ms Hall and new partner David Downey welcomed Oliver Mosman Downey on December 3.
An eagerly awaited little brother to Harry Hall, Oliver weighed just under 3kg.
“Welcome to the world our sweet boy,” Ms Hall posted on Instagram.
“We’re so in love.”
She and Mr Downey, who are renovating a home in Stafford, were counting the days until their family became four.
The couple’s love match came out of the blue for Ms Hall, who was totally lost after her “best friend” and “soul mate” Mall Hall, died without warning.
At the time, a devastated Ms Hall said: “I can’t fathom life without him but my strength is knowing he will live through his son.
“I will love him enough for the two of us and I will make sure I do Matt proud and be the best mum to him.”
