THE wife of a man who tragically died last month, has welcomed the couple’s first child into the world.
Pilot Matthew Hall, 30, died after suffering heatstroke on January 13.
The Brisbane man had been riding his dirt bike in 30C-plus heat in the Beerburrum State Forest on the Sunshine Coast when he fell ill.
When paramedics reached Mr Hall, who works for Virgin Australia, he was reportedly in a confused state, with his organs beginning to shut down.
His wife, Emily Hall, also 30, told 7 News at the time she had lost her “soul mate”.
“I can’t fathom life without him but my strength is knowing he will live through his son,” she said.
“I will love him enough for the two of us and I will make sure I do Matt proud and be the best mum to him.”
Mrs Hall’s cousin, Isabella Longginou, shared a photo of the new mum and bub with her Instagram followers, saying “You have brought so much joy already Harry Hall.”
A fundraising page set up to raise money for Mrs Hall and baby Harry has already pulled together more than $100,000. Organisers had originally hoped to raise just $5000 to give the family a headstart.
