Ekka 2024 on a budget: 100 Ekka showbags under $10 as 25% off ticket sale launches

A group of lucky kids got an exclusive preview of the Ekka showbags for 2024 before a 25% off ticket sale was launched.

You couldn’t wipe the smiles off a group of very lucky kids who had the chance to preview the selection of showbags available at this year’s Ekka ahead of a 25 per cent off ticket sale.

Peggy Mackenzie, 10, Charlotte Pentland, 11 and Esther McKeering, 11, all got an early treat of their favourite goodies ahead of the opening of the Royal Queensland Show’s Courier-Mail Showbag Pavilion this August 10-18.

For all three girls there was a common theme among their favourites, an abundance of sweets.

Charlotte said she cannot resist the Dairy Milk or Super Sour showbags for ‘all the lollies’ while Peggy likes an adventurous selection.

“My favourite is probably The Wiz Fiz because I really love the Wiz Fiz or the American Candy because I like trying out new candies,” she said.

With almost 400 different showbags to choose from there is something for everyone even with household budgets tight right now as showbags will start at $2, and there will be over 100 under $10.

RNA Chief Executive Brendan Christou said showbags are one of Ekka’s highlights, and as a not-for-profit they wanted to ensure the Ekka is affordable for every budget with a 25 per cent off ticket sale for ekka.com.au subscribers from 7pm Wednesday until midnight Saturday.
