‘Dork with a sign’: Bublé pokes fun at Gold Coast radio producer

Canadian showman Michael Bublé has phoned a Gold Coast radio station after one of their producers was barred from entering his show, but the producer may have had the last laugh.

Canadian showman Michael Bublé called into a Gold Coast radio station after a producer was seized by security at his show.

On Wednesday morning Mr Bublé chatted with 102.9 Hot Tomato’s Galey & Emily Jade whose producer, Monique Cremona, was barred from entering the Brisbane Entertainment Centre with her oversized sign.

“Were you the one with the sign that wrote to me and threatened me? Here is what I know. I don’t know whatever they’re paying you, you need a raise. I’m serious. Or else I’m going to hire you,” said Bublé.

Ms Cremona’s sign said that if the singer came on the radio show, she would get a pay rise, however, security took umbrage with the sign.

“Security wouldn’t let her in. She fought so hard for our show, she practically almost got kicked out,” host Emily Jade O’Keeffe told the Grammy winner.

“The first time she was knocked back she tried to bring them in her pants, the sign,” added host Paul “Galey” Gale.

Bublé then saw her sign on social media and agreed to a chat with the radio show’s team to air his conflicting feelings.

“There are two ways to think of this, someone took all this time to make this beautiful sign and it is so sweet, it is funny and clever but then I also think about the people behind the dork with a sign,” he said.

“They can’t see the show, there is a massive sign in front of them the whole show.”

Bublé told the show that he was sorry for what happened to her, but was deeply impressed with Ms Cremona’s ingenuity.

“I have 130 people that work for me on the road and there’s a lot of them that punch in and punch out and then I’ve got the few that really, they love what they do,” he said.

“I think when you find those people, you got to really treat them great and show them a lot of love.”
